Is It October Or What?

October looks like “THE” month for a smorgasbord of approaches to successful angling here on the Middle Coast. It doesn’t seem to matter what the game is whether artificial or bait fishing, Trout or Redfishing, or both, It’s On! I’ve been Airboat Redfishing the last several days and the action has been steady on the upper side of the slot. Topwater action on recent artificial trips has been just ridiculous for both Trout and Redfish. There are a lot of Trout over shell right now whether you are throwing lures or popping cork, numbers have been good to limits wading or drifting area reefs, shell pads, and shorelines. I just got off the phone with Capt. James Cunningham who was wade fishing artificial’s this morning and reported full limits of Trout on Bass Assassins.

With the cold front last week, we picked up a few ducks but nothing to just get crazy excited about. I saw several small flights of Pintails yesterday while fishing. I’m hearing reports from “up country” that the projected “huge” migration of juvenile Snow Geese is in fact a “reality”. A client of mine from the Carolinas was hunting Mississippi and indicated that the Goose hunting was unbelievably good. This is the first year we’ve offered waterfowl, fish, and deer combination packages for a “Coastal” Grand Slam with super tight logistics and plenty of adventure. Antler growth is looking good this year with management plans paying dividends in this dry year. Speaking of Grand Slams, GO ASTROS!!!!

Bowed-Up!
