Seadrift Fishing Report, October 2005

I had ice on the floor of my boat this morning! What’s up with that? I don’t recall a decent freeze until late in the Winter last year. Yesterday’s trip never made it away from the ramp. At 6:30am it was cold, wind gusting up over 30, and occasionally misting. Crawling back in bed looked way better than fishing and everyone agreed.

Trout fishing in off color bands of water in SAB has produced solid numbers lately. The fish are congregating in this off color water near shell reefs and some are over mud chasing bait fish and shrimp. With seasonal timing being off quite a bit, nobody has any idea when bait supplies will start to diminish. Regardless, drift and wade fishing artificial lures has produced enough numbers to make the effort worth it.

Bowed-Up!
